Margin.

What is it?

Margin is the space between the load we carry and our limits.

We have lost the art of rest

Rest means to take ease, to refresh, to end intensity, to stop or restrain, to quit, to cease, to refrain.

We overschedule, overpromise, and underdeliver.

We run at full speed.  Rest is put off until we are exhausted.

Trucks have a capacity. Bridges have a capacity, and so do we. Tonnage rates our trucks. If we overload the truck; It is more difficult to drive, damages the parts, make it harder to stop, and it hurts the roads.

Our body is no different.  A rested you is a better you.

Everybody has limits

We must know our limits. God rates us at 6/7th. God designed to work and to rest.

Within seven workdays, one day is designated for rest.

Taking the time to rest will maximize our ability to work.

A day of rest accomplishes more than we can imagine.

Did you ever think about how productive the other six days could be if we took one day to rest?

God says:

  • Rest
  • Be quiet
  • Wait
  • Be still
  • Cast your cares
  • Seek
  • Hunger
  • Thirst

God never called us to be busy. He called us to be fruitful.

Rest is required.

“Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me” (Psalm 131:2 NKJV).

Make no mistake – A better you is a rested you.
