The Bible is not an ordinary book.

God’s Word has unlimited power and works when the believer works it. Chosen men wrote the Holy Bible for God. The outcome — God is the author/composer of the scriptures.

All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. (II Timothy 3:16, ESV)

In other words, God placed His Spirit on His hand-picked authors to write His Word. The Holy Spirit was the divine agent who inspired the writers of the scripture as God breathed out His Word.

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as the Holy Spirit carried them along. (II Peter 1:21, ESV)

Our world leaders and politicians have earthly power, but the one true God has ultimate authority. God has given Christian men and women the authority to represent Him on the earth. These special people are God’s anointed men and women to do His work as He wills. God has His people perfectly placed. Some are in politics, and others work common jobs in a variety of places. The job is not the most important part of the equation, God’s will takes precedence.

The followers of Christ hear and know God’s will and take action. Believers do God’s work in and through God’s authority every day. Followers of Jesus serve a thousand different ways — pray in the marketplace, work in public office, bake cookies for shut-ins and serve unbelievers. The power of God is on His people. God provides grace to walk us through every circumstance. He also gives gifts of grace to perform miracles and exercise the power of God.

The power of God is the power to overcome the challenges of life. The power of faith is the ability to walk through hard seasons with God’s grace.  The power of healing is the power to reverse sickness and disease.  The power of God creates power conflicts between the forces of darkness and the believer.

The scriptures contain inherent power

The scriptures are divinely inspired and inherent, and the inherent portion is that whatsoever God says, He can perform. There is nothing impossible with God. God’s Word possesses the highest level of authority. Yes, the highest level of all power. The Word of God has higher authority than any world leader and all the world leaders combined.

God’s name and God’s Word are exalted above all.

I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your Word. (Psalm 138:2 HCSB)

Jesus has sovereign rule over this world and his mission in Matthew 28:18–20. Jesus said to them, “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jesus possesses all the authority of heaven and earth, and his name carries the authority and power of the entire universe. Jesus carried all the authority of heaven, and he gave that authority to us — His Kingdom children. Jesus empowered us with the authority to topple all the enemy’s schemes.

Have you heard how great football players stamp their authority on a particular game? This means their ability ruled the game and the outcome. God’s authority trumps all earthly jurisdiction. If God wants something done, it will happen.

Calling a bird of prey from the east, the man who executes My counsel, from a far country. Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it. (Isaiah 46:11, NKJV)

God’s power overcomes the world

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death. (Revelation 12:10-11, KKV)

Jesus has the power to rule the world game and establish all outcomes. He cares about the minor things in our small world and the major things of the world. Remember, Pharaoh the King of Egypt. Pharaoh’s heart was in God’s hand. Pharaoh hardened his heart toward God and men, and God allowed his heart to harden even more. Are Christians participants in world affairs? Yes, absolutely. God uses believers on the earth to pray and execute His will. We are the hands and feet of Jesus on the earth today.

We are over-comers

Jesus said, “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33, NIV)

How do we overcome the world with Jesus? We obey his commands, and we live from the power of the Holy Spirit and according to God’s Word.

Remember, the Word has the inherent power to work inside of you.

God has given you and me the power to overcome every challenge of the enemy and to walk in His inherent power.
