When did you join Medium? What influenced your decision to join?

I joined Medium in June 2019. I have wanted to be a writer my whole life and decided it was time. I actually found Medium on the Internet. Loved the format and joined the family.

When did you join Koinonia? What attracted you to this Koinonia?

I love writing for people who are curious about God. I searched the publications searching for those who would be a good fit for my spiritual content.

How long have you been writing and how did you come to it?

I have been writing as an amateur for 10 years. In those years I posted about once a month or when I felt the urge to write.

Who are some of the people who most influenced your decision to write?

I get ideas primarily through reading. And the Holy Spirit leads me. Currently,

What do you like most / least about writing?

I love the challenge and moments when writers find their zone. What I dislike is the time it takes to write a great article. The loneliness is a struggle and the hard work demanded to produce great work. Not for the faint of heart.

How do you balance professional time with personal time?

Discipline and demand. Balance is good word. I primarily go off my wife’s needs and our home schedule. If we are good and connected, then I know I can write. If we are not spending time together, waiting is best. It is a real a struggle.

What Medium publications/writers are you currently following?

I write for InterFaith, The Ascent, Koinonia, and Noteworthy. Medium has great writers. I enjoy Janis Cox, Justin Cox, Ayodeji Awosika, Kimberley Payne

What are some of your favorite things? What makes you unique?

Reading is my favorite hobby. I love writing. I love people. I love writing how culture and Christianity collide. I enjoy doing research on topics that clash with the Christian way of life. I love to empower believers on how to live a strong Christian life.

How is your faith reflected in your writing?

I am a passionate writer that likes contrasting culture and faith. My writing is filled with persuasion rather than being right. I love exposing the truth of God’s word to new believers or non-believers!

What are some things you learned from your own writing? From others?

I have learned that brevity rules. I have learned to focus on the reader.

What is your writing goals?

To continually improve my skills. I want to empower people and inspire them to follow Jesus more and more!

I desire to:
1. Glorify God
2. Improve my writing skills
3. Become a top writer in Medium
4. Write one viral post
5. Become a full time writer
